Empowerment: Hatshepsut Duffel Bag
Hatshepsut was a female pharaoh of Egypt. She reigned between 1473 and 1458 B.C. Her name means “foremost of noblewomen.”
Hatshepsut was considered a great king during her ruling period. She was a king during peace and prosperity and was able to build some of the greatest monuments in Egypt. Some may say that she was the greatest builder of all the Pharaohs. It was incredible reading “The woman who would be king” by Kara Cooney, where she talks about female rule, and how female rule is perceived negatively throughout history until this day. It is very sad to know that many of Hatshepsut's creations were destroyed after her death many years later by her successor, which lead to her mummy never being found and a lot of her history being lost.
